And to the Victors, History (don't ask)
Anarchist's Republic American Resurgence America Rewritten American Revolution
Thought -- "group creation" is not part of the generic starting of a game... that's done separately -- makes it a more separable, tradeable commodity... and you don't feel like you're wasting your time doing it once, you can use that group over and over again, assign it to the computer to see how the computer plays it, and stuff like that. :) :)
Thought -- this page is going to want to be split up, I think, and I"m not sure how. Eventually it will be split up into art, sound, code, framework, conceptualization, and stuff like that, but for the moment.... uh... dunno. maybe it's readable. we'll see.
User Interface (possibilities) What other options should we consider?
- Top down -- warcraft 3 esque (loosely gridded), civilization (highly gridded), turn-based/realtime blend?
Secrecy
Maybe one variable of success could be how well you devise, develop, and
execute your secrecy scheme. This could be made even more interesting if
we introduced an element of fantasy ala the Invisibles or Shadowrun.
Thoughts on Units?
Ability to rename any given unit type? i.e. your "Second Tier" could be called "V.P.", "high priest/priestess", "cabinet member", ...
- Prosyletizers (sp?)
- these guys go out and spread the word -- where and how? up to you... coffeehouses, streetcorners, raves, ... venues will need to be itemized and rated along many different axes.
Games and things that might relate: (very remotely)
- Master of Magic
- Like Civ, with magic, and you get to define your civilization a little more in the beginning -- some concepts to explore
- Shadowrun
- cyberpunk, with magic -- the rules on being noticed while hacking seem useful here -- you exist, the government knows you exist, but they don't realize they want to deal with you yet... slowly you build up your threat meter.... and they try to track down your ideaology and ascertain where you're operating out of and stuff like that
- The Invisibles
- Comic -- read it, it is amazing. We could really use this stuff for complicating alliance issues :) :)
